يعتقد أهل السنة والجماعة أصول الإيمان وأركانه الستة, ومن جملة تلك الأصول الإيمان بصفات الله تعالى من غير تحريف ولا تعطيل ولا تكييف ولا تمثيل, في جملة عظيمة من مسائل الاعتقاد في هذا الباب المدونة في كتبهم, ومن أهمها كتاب العقيدة الواسطية لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية الذي عني به مؤلفه وعني به العلماء من بعده.
