In the back rows of Mecca's Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque, men and women are working hard to make washrooms safe and comfortable for the millions of people who visit in Ramadan.

"There are twenty toilet facilities surrounding the Holy Mosques. Every building is three or four flours. There are six buildings dedicated for women and the rest are men-only. There is also a special building for people with special needs."

All celestial religions agree that ablution with water is an essential part of religious rites and rituals. Since mosques receive prayers five times a day, ablution platforms are the main witness to the unique relationship between prayers and water -- a relationship that surpasses bodies and embraces souls.

"These buildings are open to visitors all day long; they are repeatedly cleaned and provide ablution services to every visitor of the Holy Mosques."

Human, administrative and financial efforts are being exerted in the Two Holy Mosques in order to guarantee the presence of healthy and clean facilities at the service of all.
