ابن السَّمَّاك ( - 344 هـ = - 955 م) عثمان بن أحمد بن عبيد الله بن يزيد، أبو عمرو الدقاق، ابن السماك: مسند بغداد. وبها وفاته. كان ثقة ثبتا، كتب المصنفات الكتاب بخطه. من كتبه «الديباج - خ» و «الأمالي - خ» و «وفيات الشيوخ - خ» أجزاء منها كلها، في الظاهرية نقلا عن: الأعلام للزركلي

«O you who received the scripture, you shall believe in what we reveal herein, confirming what you have, before we banish certain faces to exile, or condemn them as we condemned those who desecrated the Sabbath. GOD's command is done.»
